Meet Kanye West's new model girlfriend

Kanye West, who is due to perform two tour dates in Auckland and Wellington next week, is reportedly dating supermodel Sessilee Lopez.

The hip-hop star is said to have grown close to the catwalk beauty after personally selecting her to appear in the music video for his single Flashing Lights.

A friend of Sessilee's is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Kanye was instantly smitten with Sessilee and it's not hard to see why. But it's more than just looks for Kanye, they get on really well and have a deep connection.

"Recently, Kanye has invited Sessilee to several parties and the pair have also had a few quiet nights together."

However, it seems 31-year-old Kanye faces competition for Sessilee's affections.

The American beauty - who modelled lingerie at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in Miami earlier this month - is being romantically pursued by a host of handsome stars.

The source added: "Everyone wants a piece of Sessilee, she is one of the hottest models around. But she is very fond of Kanye though."

Kanye has been officially single since splitting from fiancee Alexis Phifer in April.

The pair are believed to have separated because Kanye - who has just released new album 808s and Heartbreak - was too obsessed with his career.

Alexis said at the time: "It's always sad when things like this end. But we are still friends. I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavours. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met."

Kim Cattrall goes topless for Titian's masterpiece

Actress Kim Cattrall, the star of Sex and the City, has posed semi-naked to appear in a recreation of Titian's masterpiece as part of a campaign to save the artwork from being removed from public display.

The Police Academy star went topless for a modern version of 'Diana and Actaeon' to help artist and photographer Tom hunter raise 50 million pounds to save the artwork from hitting the open market.

Kim, a regular at the London National Gallery and a huge admirer of Titian's work, argued viewing the painting as 'being in the presence of genius... it would be a tragedy if it were not on public view'.

The 52-year-old actress had been enlisted by Hunter along with a troupe of twenty somethings students to pose for the 21st century version of the painting, reports the Telegraph.

He said, "Kim is the perfect Diana. Just like the Greek goddess, she combines beauty with a sense of threat. She was a great sport and at 52 made an amazing Diana. She more than held her own among a room full of twentysomethings.

"The picture can't of course hold a candle to the original which deserves to remain on public view. This painting is sublime and to lose it to a private collection would be a tragedy," he added.

Beyonce glams up the red carpet in a black Dolce & Gabbana dress with puff sleeves at the premiere of her new movie, Cadillac Records, held at The Egyptian Theater on Monday in Hollywood. Michael Jackson cancels plan to appear in UK court

Michael Jackson will not appear in a London court on Monday after the U.S. pop star reached a settlement "in principle" with a Bahraini prince suing him for reneging on a recording contract.

The reclusive 50-year-old had agreed last week to testify at the High Court.

"As Mr. Jackson was about to board his plane to London, he was advised by his legal team to postpone his travels since the parties had concluded a settlement in principle," a London spokeswoman for Jackson said on Sunday.

"Therefore, he will not be attending court on Monday," said the spokeswoman from PR company Outside Organization.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Khalifa, second son of the king of Bahrain, said Jackson failed to honor a contract to record a new album, write an autobiography and produce a stage play.

He also told the court last week that Jackson owed him $7 million after the prince paid for legal costs, travel and other expenses in 2005 and 2006.

Jackson and his children spent time in Bahrain as a guest of the royal family following a 2005 trial on child molestation charges, but he backed down from plans to work with Sheikh Abdullah in 2006.

He was acquitted of the charges in 2005, but the trial left Jackson's career, reputation and financial status in tatters and he has been a virtual recluse since.

NO VALID AGREEMENT

Jackson's lawyers argued that there was no valid agreement with Sheikh Abdullah, and they have tried to portray the prince as a generous but naive, star-struck pop music amateur.

They also say Sheikh Abdullah's payments to Jackson and his staff were intended as gifts, not part of a business agreement.

Details of the personal and financial relationship between Jackson and Sheikh Abdullah surfaced during the first week of the trial.

The court heard that the prince gave Jackson and his representatives $1 million before he had met the star, and provided $35,000 to pay for utility bills at the singer's Neverland Ranch in the United States.

He paid Jackson $2.2 million in legal fees, and more than $300,000 for the services of a motivational "guru."

Sheikh Abdullah also spent $450,000 on Jackson's brother Jermaine in late 2004 and early 2005, and paid for a Rolls-Royce car for him in California.

Jackson and the prince spoke by telephone and collaborated on songs long-distance during the 2005 trial.

The courts took the unusual step last week of issuing tickets to media outlets wanting to attend the hearing on Monday, in anticipation of the huge press and public interest his appearance was likely to generate.

The 27-year-old will open the AMAs on Sunday with a seven-minute medley of her greatest hits.

According to Us Weekly, the opening number will include “Genie in a Bottle,” “Fighter”, “Beautiful,” “Keeps Getting Better” and “Dirrty.”

“We are very excited to have Christina Aguilera perform at this year’s show,” Dick Clark Productions President Orly Adelson said in a statement. “She raises the bar with each live performance and you can expect something special at the 2008 ‘American Music Awards.’”

Breast Fest Film Festival 2008 in Toronto

Toronto will hold the world's first Breast Fest Film Festival next week to raise awareness about breast cancer globally.

To be organised by Toronto-based non-profit organisation Rethink Breast Cancer, the November 21-22 festival will feature films, individual stories and discussions about the issues surrounding the disease.

By showcasing films about the emotional toll of the disease, the festival will use the powers of this media to engage and educate audiences about the disease, Rethink Breast Cancer said Tuesday. The festival will also connect people to each other and to the breast cancer cause, it said.

On the pattern of the Toronto International Film Festival, film screenings will be followed by panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions with film directors.

"So many people are touched by breast cancer, but each person's experience is very different, resulting in a wide range of needs that are not always met through traditional support and education options," said Rethink vice-president Alison Gordon.

"The stars of the Breast Fest Film Festival are the women and men who have shared their stories, through which we hope to engage and connect people, and encourage them to think differently about breast cancer," she added.

The festival will open with the Canadian premiere of Living Proof, which highlights the importance of breast cancer research through the true story of Dennis Slamon of the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) who helped develop the breast cancer drug Herceptin. Renée Zellweger is one of the executive producers of the film.

Next day, the winner of the Breast Fest Film Festival short film competition will be presented the Amazing Grace award – named after well-known Canadian filmmaker Grace Cianciotta.

Those touched by breast cancer will also share their stories at an international forum to be held November 22.

Australian Music Star Keith Urban Is One Of The World's Sexiest Men'

Australian country music star Keith Urban has been named one of the sexiest men alive, but he didn't bend it like international soccer ace David Beckham who topped the hunks' list.

Twenty judges were recruited by Entertainment Television to come up with a list of the world's 25 hottest blokes now deemed the Sexiest Men of the World.

All Black hunk Dan Carter came in at No. 11.

Urban, who once posed nude for Playgirl magazine, came in at a respectable 16, thanks to his virility and versatility.

"He's sort of the guy that came in and saved Nicole and he gave her what she wanted - which was a baby," the Australian judge, Ask Sam's Samantha Brett said.

"He goes from rugged to red carpet in five minutes flat."

"He's always so well put together, he's down to earth and he's sweet."

Kidman has two adopted children with former husband Tom Cruise and had a baby daughter with Urban in July.

The list is one in the series of sexiest lists that have rated cover models, celebrity body parts and pop divas.

Ms Brett, who was recruited to the Los Angeles judging panel, said Beckham was the obvious choice for the number one spot.

"Becks is the ultimate package - he's sporty, he's cute, he has a great fashion sense - he's got the six-pack abs," she said.

"And he's a dad, and so that's the ultimate 'wow' factor for women, I think, seeing a doting father."

Acclaimed US actor Johnny Depp took out second.

"Johnny Depp is the bona fide bad boy and women are addicted to guys that are a bit naughty," Ms Brett said.

"And every girl wants to be the girl to change the bad boy but of course that's never going to happen."

"One More Time" for Britney Spears?

A year ago, Britney Spears was taking court-ordered drug and alcohol tests, had fired her managers, was losing custody of her kids, and some journalists were preparing her obituary.

This week, she was caring for her children like any mother would when she rushed 2-year-old Jayden James to a hospital after a bad reaction to something he ate. As for her career, only one week ago she was on stage performing with Madonna and on the brink of an extraordinary musical comeback.

Industry watchers wonder whether Spears, 26, can win back the young, fickle fans now accustomed to watching her fall apart, or if she can stage a comeback like pop diva Mariah Carey. She spent several years in a slump before rebounding to charttopper status with 2005 album "The Emancipation of Mimi."

"You can only have so many second chances and this is definitely one of those now or never moments," said Ellen Carpenter, a senior editor at Spin magazine.

Ten years after she burst onto the world stage as a perky 17-year-old and scored hit songs including "... Baby One More Time," Spears seems to have pulled her life and career out of the toilet with a hit single, a new album due out in December, a tell-all documentary and talk of her first tour since 2004.

Spears' first single "Womanizer," off her Dec 2. album "Circus," was a good omen. It leapt to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart in October and went to No.1 on iTunes charts in Canada, France, Spain and Sweden.

But in an era of falling record sales, the big money in the music industry is made through live shows. Spears, who has done only a handful of live performances since 2005, is expected to launch a world tour early next year.

"Nothing in this economic environment is a slam dunk," said Gary Bongiovanni, editor of concert magazine Pollstar.

"When an artist stays off the scene for a couple of years, it is impossible to tell how much that audience has gravitated elsewhere until you put tickets on sale," Bongiovanni said.

Spears made headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2007 and early 2008 -- shaving her head, partying without panties, two hospitalizations for psychiatric checks, losing custody of her sons and giving a laughable performance at an MTV Awards show.

As the sexy young pop star who sold more than 60 million records in her heyday gave way to an erratic, disheveled divorcee, her musical and personal obituary was being written.

"Last year, it didn't seem like she would ever come out of it. Her falling apart was bigger than anybody, even Michael Jackson. I don't know if anyone in pop music has fallen that low and come back," Carpenter said.

But since February, when Spears' father Jamie took over her business and personal affairs, the singer has reunited with the manager who made her a star, won three MTV Video Music Awards, recorded her sixth studio album and relaunched her Web site.

She will mark the release of "Circus" with a November 30 TV documentary about her darkest days and an appearance, on her 27th birthday, on U.S. TV chat show "Good Morning America."

Still, Bongiovanni said it may be hard for fans to separate Spears the pop star from Spears the pop problem. "Are they coming to see you because they think a train wreck is about to happen, or because they really like your music?" he said.

Nicole Kidman wants more children.

The actress - who is married to country music star Keith Urban - gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose in July.

And Kidman is keen to add to her brood.

She says, "I would love more children - but that's up to God!

"[Sunday] is amazing. She's an easy baby. She's giggling."

Nicole, 41, added that she draws inspiration from her mother.

She said, "When you're raised by a woman who has strong beliefs and is opinionated and compassionate – you're lucky! I will always give her credit!

Salma Hayek is still owed a soccer lesson by David Beckham. The ‘Frida’ actress paid £175,000 for a one-hour private lesson with the soccer star at a New York charity auction hosted by Madonna in February — outbidding formidable American Vogue editor Anna Wintour in the process — but has yet to claim her prize.

The pair have reportedly had difficulty securing a date for the coaching session due to David’s sporting commitments and Salma’s acting obligations.
