Katy Perry has become the first woman to have five number one singles from the same album on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.



Katy Perry has matched Michael Jackson's record of having five number one hit singles from the same album on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.



The brunette beauty's latest release 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)' made history as it became her fifth single from platinum record 'Teenage Dream' to reach the top spot, following the success of 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework' and 'E.T.', which has left the singer feeling "proud".



The 26-year-old star took to her twitter account to announce the news earlier today (17.08.11), tweeting: "What a way to wake up! SO proud to announce that the little-engine-that-could of a song 'LAST FRIDAY NIGHT' is officially #1 & made HISTORY! (sic)"



Katy then praised her fans for helping her become the first woman to achieve the feat.



She wrote: "& u know, I couldn't have done it with out ya, really I owe u guys BIG... so take this moment to give yourself a high FIVE!!! #all because of u (sic)"



The exploit was last achieved by Michael - who died in 2009, aged 50 - when his 10-track album 'Bad' featured five number one singles, 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Man in the Mirror' and 'Dirty Diana', between 1987 and 1988 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Katy Perry vows never to strip for Playboy

Pop star Katy Perry has vowed never to strip for Playboy and is instead eyeing a racy Dita Von Teese-style burlesque photoshoot.

The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker is known for her fun-filled, saucy stage antics, but is adamant that she would never bare all for the popular men's magazine, Contactmusic reported.

The newlywed is planning to tease her fans with a flesh-flashing shoot complete with racy black lingerie and vampish make-up, inspired by burlesque beauty Von Teese.

"I like to play that (sexy) card because it's fun and definitely in my deck, but I like to tease.

"I'm like a burlesque girl. I definitely won't be doing a Playboy spread but I will be doing a kind of Dita Von Teese style (session)," said the 26-year-old singer.

Russell Brand joked that he and pop-star finacee Katie Perry would definitely make a sex tape together.

Brand, 35, answered in good humour when asked if he and pop-star finacee, 25 might ever work in a movie together. "We''ll do a sex tape! Give them what they want!" People magazine quoted Brand as saying.

"It takes up enough of my time to be in love with her. Negotiating in films is very, very hard. Imagine trying to direct someone you really love - it would be a [expletive] nightmare," Brand said.

"I've found someone who is singularly important to me, so it means compromise, growing up and all the things they tell you in school," he said.

"Love between two people is the most spectacular yet ordinary thing in the world," Brand added.

Katy Perry Will Become Mrs. Brand on 23 October

Pop star Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand will wed in a Hindu ceremony at a luxury hotel in Jaipur, India next weekend (23Oct10), according to the latest U.S. report.

They will return to the country where they became engaged on New Year's Eve in 2009 to exchange vows in front of 85 family and friends at the Taj Rambagh Palace resort on 23 October (10).

Perry's pal Rihanna let slip earlier this year (10) the loved-up pair would marry in India, but the comments were swiftly dismissed by the I Kissed A Girl hitmaker.

However, the New York Post's gossip column Page Six has backed up Rihanna's claims and allege the wedding party will be treated to a tiger safari at the Aman-i-Khas, near the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, for a three-day adventure before the nuptials take place.

Brand recently admitted the wedding would be taking place "soon", although he refused to name an exact date.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star, who proposed to the singer during atrip to India, was celebrating his last weeks as a single man with rocker Noel Gallagher and comic David Walliams at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, England.


And after realising he was sharing the venue with an Indian wedding party, he joined in the festivities, posing for snaps with guests and dancing before he was hoisted onto the shoulders of a young reveller - much to the annoyance of the groom.


But Russell just kept on dancing. A party-goer tells Britain's News of the World, "Russell completely took over and was dancing away at the reception. The groom wasn't very happyabout the fact that the spotlight had been taken away from him and his new bride. "He went over to the DJ who was playing English tunes and asked him to change the music to more Asian music in a bid to get Russell to stop dancing.

Perry, who is set to tie the knot with British funnyman Russell Brand, has given the responsibility of organizing a pre-wedding party to Rihanna.

“Rihanna has all these ideas about everything. You see people coming and they strip at your bachelor party but I want her to strip at my bachelorette party. She’s going to get the message right now. She’s hot, I love her. She’s just the coolest chick and I want all of her clothes. We have a lot in common. British comedian David Walliams, a close friend of the star, said: "Normally Russell's girlfriends are following him around totally in awe of him, but he is following her around totally in awe.

"But I can understand that because Katy is absolutely knockout gorgeous and really funny, really provocative and naughty. He has met his match."

Katy and Russell, 34, were first romantically linked after the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) two months ago when they were seen kissing at Lady Gaga's after-party at New York nightspot Avenue.

They have enjoyed a romantic holiday to Thailand and have been inseparable ever since.

Comedian Russell has admitted he has never felt "more settled" in his life and pals believe the pair will marry in a matter of months.

Pop star Katy Perry is delighted someone paid US$3500 for a mould of her breasts.

The I Kissed A Girl singer had her ample assets immortalised in a plaster cast for breast cancer research charity Keep A Breast, and was thrilled with the amount someone paid for it.

She said: "Someone paid US$3500 for a mould of my breast. That's a lot in a recession."

Katy, 24, has also denied claims she suffered from alcoholism while waiting for her break in the music industry, and is adamant she is only a social drinker.

She said: "I didn't even know what rehab was until Amy Winehouse sang about it. I've tried things of course, but I've never been addicted.

" I've never had any problems."

The US star recently insisted she has no plans to end her war of words with Lily Allen, who previously claimed Katy called her "fat".
