A beauty queen has been thrown out of the Miss Great Britain contest after she was found to have posed topless and worked at a massage parlour that offered sex services.
Laura Anness, 27, was crowned Miss Plymouth City recently and was gearing up to participate in November's national beauty pageant.
The Sun reported Thursday that pageant organisers were not aware that she had in 1999 posed topless as a teenager and worked in a massage parlour offering sex services.
Laura, from Saltash, Cornwall, had been stripped of another beauty pageant title contest earlier this year for lying about her age.
She then went on to enter Miss Great Britain, where the rules clearly say that participants must have never posed naked or been involved in prostitution.
"I'm totally shocked," Miss GB organiser Liz Fuller was quoted as saying.
Socialite Paris Hilton was refused entry into Japan where she was scheduled to promote her fashion range after she admitted of cocaine possession before a Las Vegas court.
The immigration officers refused to let the 29-year-old socialite into the country. She was quizzed at Tokyo's Narita airport for six hours before being placed at the Airport Rest House.
"Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans," thesun.co.uk quoted her spokeswoman as saying.
"She is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control. She is very disappointed," the spokeswoman added.
Just hours before her visit, Hilton appeared in the Las Vegas court and pleaded guilty of possessing cocaine and obstructing a policeman. She was given a 12-month suspended jail term.
Lady Gaga is "enormously disappointed" the US government has failed to repeal the military's homophobic 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' legislation.
The eccentric singer - who is a staunch supporter of gay rights - is stunned the policy was not revoked during a vote in the US Senate yesterday (21.09.10). The decision means gay service members will continue to be forced to keep quiet about their sexuality.
Writing on her official website, she said: "Today was an enormous disappointment, for myself, and for many young American people. I will keep fighting, I will not give up.
Instead, it has been customary now for antiquated procedures and partisan politics to take precedence over debate, America's needs, and today over the needs of US troops.
"I am passionate about the rights of the LGBT Community (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) and SLDN (Service Members Legal Defence Network) and I will continue to activate as many young people as I can, and encourage them to get politically involved in their future."
The 'Alejandro' hitmaker also criticised the decision to not let American citizens watch the debate.
She explained: "Legislative procedure is being abused to stop public business, public debates, from happening while America is watching. There was a debate today, we just didn't get to watch it.
"Instead, it has been customary now for antiquated procedures and partisan politics to take precedence over debate, America's needs, and today over the needs of US troops."
Senate Republicans blocked the Democrat bill to lift the controversial policy with a 56-43 vote.
Paris Hilton was detained in Japan and Lindsay Lohan has a warrant out for her arrest, but life's a beach for their former BFF Nicole Richie.
The hot mama, who turns 30 today, was celebrating South of the Border in a bikini bottom and not much else. She was joined by famous friends Christina Aguilera and Sam Ronson in Cabo, and she may have been celebrating more than just her birthday...
While having dinner at a local restaurant, Nic was spotted wearing a "bride-to-be" sash and necklace adorned with plastic penises.
Was this trip also a bachelorette party?
Nicole's rep didn't respond to our request for comment on what exactly she was celebrating, but either way, happy birthday!
Nice to see the former wild child is staying out of trouble but can still cut loose!
So, first Paris Hilton was claiming those drugs which just fell out of a handbag she was holding was 'too cheap' to be something she'd own (but she'd use someone else's lipgloss out of it, obviously) but now it looks as though she's finally admitted to it…
The pink and fluffy princess has pleaded guilty in a Las Vegas court to drug possession and obstructing a public officer after she was pulled over by police in Las Vegas on 27 August this year, and cocaine was found in her handbag. We mean, the handbag that she was holding, the she'd posted a picture of on Twitter, but wasn’t actually hers.
Anyway, she's backtracked on that and as part of a plea deal she has accepted responsibility for the drug offence, and in return she has not received a prison sentence. Lovely.
She will have to fork out $2,000 and carry out 200 hours of community service though, and she was even warned that if she is arrested for anything again she could face up to a year in the Clark County Detention Centre. Yikes.
Let's hope Paris cleaners herself up better than young miss Lohan shall we?
Gwyneth Paltrow is in negotiations to star in 'Glee'.
The Oscar-winning actress is reportedly in talks to star as a potential love interest for teacher Will Schuester - played by Matthew Morrison - in the musical TV show.
According to E! Online, the part was written specifically for the 'Iron Man' actress as she is a close friend of 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy.
We're going to rock the house. We're going to do some heavy metal - Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst.
If the exciting casting does come to fruition, Gwyneth will play the role of a substitute teacher in two episodes, and will step in to take over the glee club when Mr. Schuester falls ill.
However, Gwyneth's character complicates Mr. Schuester's relationship with quirky guidance counsellor Emma (Jayma Mays) when he starts to fall for her.
Gwyneth - who will have an all-singing, all-dancing role in the show - is not the only Oscar-winning star set to make a guest appearance in season two of the Fox series.
Javier Bardem recently revealed he is set to appear as a rock star who befriends Artie (Kevin McHale).
He said: "We're going to rock the house. We're going to do some heavy metal - Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."
"Mad Men" star Elisabeth Moss' split from actor husband Fred Armisen is about to become official. On Monday, September 20, the 28-year-old actress filed for divorce in L.A. Superior Court, Entertainment Tonight confirmed.
In the divorce papers, Moss cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split and listed June 26 as the date of their separation. The "Get Him to the Greek" actress was also said asking to terminate the court's jurisdiction to award spousal support to Armisen.
On the separation, a source told Us Magazine, "They had issues. Her religion was as important to her as their marriage, if not more. He could not get with it." Meanwhile, another source previously told People that conflicting work schedules and long-distance relationship were behind the split.
Moss and Armisen have only been married for almost 11 months after tying the knot on October 25, 2009. Less than a week after their split made headline, Armisen was romantically linked to his "Saturday Night Live" co-star Abby Elliott after the two were spotted getting cozy at Reservoir restaurant in Los Angeles back in August.
